ABOUT BAMBINA BORRACHA

Bambina Borracha Productions formed in August 2007 to produce works by exciting emerging artists. The key aim of the association is to enhance artists' knowledge and experience by creating work of a professional standard.

The company’s premiere production, Persephone’s Wolf, debuted at the CarriageWorks Arts Centre in 2008 before touring to critical success at the Adelaide Fringe Festival. This show was a new Australian work combining theatre, live music, film and an accompanying cross-media installation created by local artists.

In total, Persephone’s Wolf involved more than 30 emerging artists and was a sparkling incarnation of Bambina Borracha’s aims.

Since 2007, the association has produced works at some of Sydney's most prestigious independent artistic seasons including Griffin Indepenent and Belvoir's BSharp.

Bambina Borracha's production at Belvoir Street of Beyond the Neck by Tom Holloway was nominated for Best Independent Production in 2009 at the Sydney Theatre Awards.

In 2010, Bambina Borracha Productions won the Bank SA's People's Choice Award at the Adelaide Fringe Festival with Words They Make With Their Mouths.

Bambina Borracha Productions continues to work with emerging artists and provide them with creative opportunities for directors, producers, designers, peformers, media-makers, visual artists and writers.
