Things are coming along swimmingly with CarriageWorks. Last I was in the theatre with Edan and Simon, our designers, for the first time. It gave them a chance to see how big the space is, and me a chance to see how many seats there are! It really is a HUGE space, and the thought of selling all those tickets is daunting, but exciting. I also met with the Box Office Manager, and our Production Manager to organise ticket sales, and hopefully we will have our tickets on sale next week. Then all we have to do is sell them… Meanwhile, I am keeping my fingers crossed that we don’t have to schedule in another ‘attendant’ of any description who we are required to pay $200 a night!
We have now finalised the details for the Community Art Installation with CarriageWorks, and are very pleased that it is going to be co-produced with CarriageWorks. The artists are all busy working on their pieces, and we are planing how we are going to get a car inside the foyer for one of the works! Some of the artist will be stopping by rehearsals in the next couple of weeks, which should give them a good understanding of the show, and help make the Art Installation more cohesive.
Our engines are all full steam ahead for the upcoming Babaret, and Tim is busy sourcing performers and organising the logistics of our big-screen Singstar competition. Virginia Gay and the Cutberts are all locked in, and rumour has it that there may be a rival Cuthbert band, Cuthbert and the Jay-Walkers. Come along to see a good old helping of sibling rivalry!
See you soon! |
